Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club organized a sports symposium on the role of genetic factors and nutritional genetics on athletic performance, with the presence of Dr. Maria Franchino, a famous nutritionist, and expert in the applications of the keto diet and genetic nutrition.
A press statement from the club stated that the symposium comes within the club’s plan and strategy to develop and educate the various elements of water sports, including trainers, administrators, physical preparation specialists and therapists, where Dr. Maria highlighted the role of genetic factors and nutritional genetics on sports performance.
The symposium dealt with the main genetic factors that play a role in improving sports performance, as nutritional genetics is one of the most basic aspects that affect the relationship between nutrition and the level of sports performance.
The symposium was held at the sports center of Mohammed bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi, where the symposium was inaugurated by Hamid Al Hooti, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club, in the presence of a number of those interested in the water sports sector, including coaches of the Abu Dhabi Water Sports Club, physical education teachers at the Emirates Foundation for School Education, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the City Center.
