Xavi Hernandez has already made the final decision to resign from his position, so the “name exchange” regarding his potential successors has already begun. In just a few days, several or even a dozen coaches appeared in the media who could replace the Catalan.
Theoretically, FC Barcelona has until the end of June to find a new coach. This is a very long period, which will certainly be sufficient to select the best candidate. In practice, however, everything may turn out completely differently, as he says in an interview with “Fakt”. Jerzy Dudek.
Will Xavi leave sooner than in June? Jerzy Dudek allows for this possibility
The former Polish goalkeeper claims that Xavi Hernandez may have lacked the experience to prove himself as a first-team coach in a club as specific as FC Barcelona. He also speculates that the coach may not manage the locker room well because “a few players came and a few left in a strange atmosphere.”
Jerzy Dudek is of the opinion that if FC Barcelona continues to show such poor form, the club’s management may thank Xavi sooner than at the end of June. A lot would certainly depend on whether his successor would appear on the horizon.
– But I would ask a different question, Will Xavi actually stay until the end of the season? Will the club’s authorities survive if the team continues to lose? This is a very interesting issue, says Jerzy Dudek.
However, please note that Xavi Hernandez announced his departure on June 30, 2024 and waiving the rest of the remuneration he was entitled to during the contract. If the board releases him earlier, the Catalan’s conditions in this context may also change – it is possible. Barcelona, on the other hand, cannot afford to put additional strain on its budget, which is already very tight. So it seems that the scenario proposed by Jerzy Dudek came true, some kind of cataclysm would have to happen in Robert Lewandowski’s club.
