Fortunately there was no loss of life in this accident. 16 people were injured. Among them are women and children. All the injured have been shifted to the nearest hospital and are being treated.
DSP Harsimran Singh Bal said that the organizers have taken all kinds of permissions from the government to organize this fair. However, he made it clear that there is no excuse for any wrongdoing in such a fair where people participate in large numbers. He said that action will be taken against them as per law.
Eyewitnesses say that the organizers did not follow any safety standards at the fair. It is said that after 20 minutes of the accident, private bouncers came there. Until then, the local people took up the relief measures. They are questioning how such a big fair can be conducted without at least first aid facility. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
