A bus transporting passengers carrying Saudis and residents of different nationalities during their journey to perform Umrah, today, Monday, was involved in a traffic accident at Aqaba Shaar in Asir, southwest of the Kingdom.
As a result of the accident, 20 people were killed and 29 others were injured. The security authorities closed Aqaba to facilitate the passage of the Civil Defense and Red Crescent teams to the site of the terrible accident, while the bodies and the injured were transferred to hospitals, and the competent authorities are still investigating the causes of the accident.
Sources also confirmed the possibility of an increase in death cases as a result of the stricken “Aqaba Shaar” bus accident, which occurred this afternoon, while all deaths were transferred to the refrigerator of the Muhayil Asir Hospital, while the injuries amounted to about 29, and they were transferred to each of the Asir Central Hospital, Muhayil Hospital, and Muhayil Hospital. own father.
For his part, the Governor of Muhayil Muhammad bin Falah Al-Qarqah, under the direction and follow-up of Prince Turki bin Talal, Governor of the Asir region, accompanied by Muhayil Police Director Brigadier General Mubarak Al-Bishri, visited the injured to check on them, and directed to intensify health care for the injured.
