One of the big absentees at the last The Game Awards was Shadow of the Erdtree, the long-awaited expansion for Elden Ring that was announced last March and of which we still don’t know when it will be available.
As published today on Reddit, the Datablitz store has leaked some promotional materials for Thrustmaster, which indicates the possible release date of the expansion… and something else.
Specifically, the controller manufacturer – which has already collaborated with the Japanese company on various products – shows some pads with decorations from the From Software game that would go on sale “in February 2024” coinciding with the launch of Shadow of the Erdtree. “The anniversary” of the game is also mentioned, which would further limit the date to February 25, 2024, the day that marks two years since the original launch.
In addition, Thrustmaster also plans to launch two other controllers in 2025, this time with Malenia and Ranni designs. In this case they would hit the market coinciding with “a key Elden Ring event in 2025 or a new expansion.” Neither From Software nor Bandai Namco have spoken so far about a possible second expansion, which could be a Complete Edition or similar that includes the base game and Shadow of the Erdtree.
Until Bandai Namco officially announces the date we will not know if Thrustmaster’s information was completely accurate, but the speed with which Datablitz’s listing or screenshots of it on services like Imgur have been removed is also, to say the least, peculiar.
And, meanwhile, speculation will continue. Fans continue to think up theories about what Shadow of the Erdtree can explain and where it can take us. Us too, by the way, as we explain in this article…
