Saudi national team defender Ali Al-Bulaihi sent a strongly worded message to former Iraqi football star Younis Mahmoud, who currently holds the position of Vice President of the Football Association, after the “Greens” won 3-1 in the “Gulf 26” tournament currently being held in Kuwait.
Al-Bulaihi said to the Qatari Al-Kas channel: “Best of luck to the Iraqi team, a great and respected team, and thanks to our fans for the great support. I say to Younis Mahmoud, if you want to talk about Saudi football, you must stand on your feet out of respect… No one knew you until you started playing in Saudi Arabia”.

Younis Mahmoud had sparked controversy with his statement before the big and decisive match in qualifying for the second group, saying while laughing: “Saudi Arabia is coming for the title!”, which angered the Saudi fans and the Green players.
