Eleven cyclists belonging to an Olympic school in Russia were run over by a truck on the highway in the Leningrad region Thursday morning, killing two teenagers and injuring nine.
Russia Today channel stated on its website that the athletes’ ages ranged between 14-15 years, while the team included one coach.
She said, “The truck deviated from its track to collide with a passing car on the highway, before it ran over a queue of cyclists, killing two and injuring nine students,” adding that “the police opened an investigation into the causes of the accident.”
