In this one and a half hour they are engaged in work like reading books, asking other people for doubts arising in textbooks, and asking unknown things from parents and relatives.
After 7 pm a siren will be sounded in the village. When this sound is played, everyone in the village switches off their cell phones. Also they switch off all devices including TV, tablet computer, computer, laptop. And don’t stay on any social media for this hour and a half. At 8.30pm, when the sirens sound again, they turn their cell phones to life.
Village Panchayat Chairman Vijay Mohide said:
We started this initiative to prevent people from drowning in social media and give them freedom from the modern world. Everyone accepted my decision and for that hour and a half nobody turned on cell phones or TV. Page does not go. They are now transitioning from a digital toxic world to learning and participating in meaningful discussions. This is what he said.
