The American company “Open AI”, which developed the artificial intelligence system “ChatGBT”, acknowledged the existence of a vulnerability in the system that allowed some users to see the addresses of other users’ conversations, but confirmed that it had worked to fix it.
And “Chat GBT” is a technology that was launched for free use last November, and it is a robot or an artificial intelligence program that can conduct conversations and answer the questions asked in a detailed and accurate manner, and it can write songs and complete press topics depending on what the user provides. From the entries, quoted by the newspaper “Al-Sharq Al-Awsat”.
According to the British BBC, a number of social media users, Twitter and Reddit, shared pictures of chat logs that they said did not belong to them.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman described the vulnerability as “horrific” but confirmed that it has now been fixed.
However, many users remain concerned about this technology invading their privacy.
Every conversation made by ChatGBT is stored in the chat history of the user with whom it had the conversation, where it can be revisited later.
But early Monday, users noticed conversations in their history that they said they had not had with the chatbot.
One user on Reddit shared a photo of their chat history including titles like “Developing Chinese Socialism” as well as conversations in Mandarin (China’s official language).
On Tuesday, OpenAI told Bloomberg that it had briefly disabled the chatbot to fix the bug.
The company also confirmed that users were unable to access the actual chats, only their addresses.
