In the Khabarovsk Territory, the first stage of the operational and preventive measures “Putin – 2022” has been completed. In the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the region summed up its results.
Police officers initiated 61 criminal cases on the illegal extraction of biological resources, including those belonging to species listed in the Red Book and protected by international treaties.
The police also seized 237 kg of sturgeon caviar, 748 kg and 17 specimens of sturgeon fish, more than 117 kg of sturgeon meat fragments, 39 fishing gear, as well as 63 various vehicles and watercraft used by poachers.
About a hundred crabs and three dozen fish banned from catching were released into their natural habitat, writes news agency AmurMedia.
Earlier it was reported that smugglers with black caviar worth 147 million rubles were caught in the Khabarovsk Territory. More than 680 kg of sturgeon caviar were found during an attempt to deliver them to Khabarovsk on two trucks without documents confirming the legality of its origin.
