Sochi received about 200,000 vacationers during the New Year holidays. As Mayor of the city Aleksey Kopaygorodsky announced on January 8, the winter season for the resort will be successful.
“The new countdown has started. The winter season as a whole promises to be successful. Sochi has a reliable, high-quality tourism infrastructure,” Kopaygorodsky wrote in his Telegram channel.
The mayor announced that at the end of the summer season, unified information centers will appear in the city, where it will be possible to learn about the tourist opportunities of Sochi. In addition, the authorities will continue to develop the health resort infrastructure.
Earlier, on December 31, Kopaygorodsky noted that in 2022, the maximum tourist flow rate in 100 years was updated in Sochi, having received 7.2 million guests. He noted that the flow of tourists has been increasing over the past 10 years due to the introduction of high high season standards and the “Together in Sochi” concept. The head of the city added that in 2023 the level of service will increase, and the service sector will become noticeably wider.
Earlier, on December 27, it became known that in the new year a double-decker train would run from Ufa to Sochi. According to the head of the Kuibyshev railway Vyacheslav Dmitriev, the Ufa-Imeretinsky resort train will go through Samara. It will include six cars from Ufa and five from Samara.
Also in 2023, it is planned to complete the development of a master plan for a new passenger terminal at Sochi Airport, including a new air terminal complex. The terminal can be opened by 2026, which was announced on November 29 by the director of aviation commerce of the Aerodinamika group, Alexander Nikonov.
