Earlier, Indian embassy officials in the UAE had said that an Indian national was among the dead. A Pakistani national was also killed in the blast. Of the 120 injured, 106 were Indians, the embassy said. Some of these injuries are serious. Authorities assured that all necessary assistance would be provided to the injured. The injured are being treated at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Burjeel Hospital, NMC, Medior, Lifeline, Mediclinic and Cleveland Hospitals. The injured were identified as Abdullah Al Hamid, chairman of the health department; Jamal al-Kaabi visited and assessed the situation. Authorities said they would ensure better treatment for them.

Two people were killed when a gas cylinder exploded at a crowded restaurant in Khalidiya on Monday afternoon. The blast took place at around 1 pm at a food care restaurant owned by a Malayalee. Abu Dhabi police say the gas cylinder exploded. Locals said there were two explosions. Six buildings were damaged in the blast. Vehicles parked nearby were also damaged. Locals said they heard the blast first small and then large.
