The free public Wi-Fi service is made available by the municipalities of the emirate and the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport in collaboration with internet service providers in the country. The free service, known as Hala Wi-Fi, will be available on public buses and parks across the emirate, the Abu Dhabi Media Office announced on X Platform.
Free Wi-Fi is available in 44 public parks in the emirate. Free WiFi is available in 19 public parks in Abu Dhabi, 11 in Al Ain and 14 in Al Dhafra. The service will soon be available at Abu Dhabi Corniche Beach and Al Bateen Beach. There will be an ad break every hour.
The initiative aims to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s move towards Smart City development by improving digital infrastructure. Free Wi-Fi was already available on public buses in Abu Dhabi. Similarly, internet service provider du Company is implementing a plan as part of UAE Vision 2021 to allow users with an Emirates phone number to access emails, government websites, social media apps and messaging services for one hour for free.
Free Wi-Fi is available in Dubai and in popular public places and public transport. The service is available at many locations including RTA Taxis and Dubai Metro. Free Wi-Fi is available on buses in Sharjah from April. Ras Al Khaimah Emirates authorities have introduced free Wi-Fi in buses on Musandam and Oman route.
