The UAE Professional League, Mubadala Investment Company, and the Community Contributions Authority jointly announced the launch of the first project, “Football for Senior Citizens,” within the package of projects in the Community Partnership Agreement that was signed in October 2024, under which Mubadala Investment Company became an official partner of the UAE Professional League competitions for the current 2024 sports season. 2025, the agreement that included many awareness, sports and entertainment projects for various segments of society.
The “Football for Senior Citizens” project, scheduled to be held tomorrow and the day after tomorrow on Al Maryah Active Island in the capital, Abu Dhabi, will be the starting point for improving the quality of life of community members, encouraging them to practice sports, encouraging them to health and fitness programmes, reducing health problems and contributing to building a healthier community environment.
Eight teams will participate in the tournament, each team includes 10 players aged 60 years and above. The qualifiers will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, with 4 team football matches, each match lasting 10 minutes, followed by the semi-final match.
The final match will be held at 11 am on Sunday, January 5, followed by the crowning of the winning team.
