Digital Desk, New Delhi. The Pakistan government is co-producing two multi-million dollar biopics based on Zaheeruddin Babar with Uzbekistan and Allama Iqbal with Iran, reports Sama TV. This was announced by the Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan, Fawad Chaudhry.
A film production department has been set up in the Pakistan Television Network and two projects are currently under construction. These films will be made on international standards. Another project based on Tipu Sultan is in the process with a private production house. The information minister said the government is simplifying the process of obtaining No Objection Certificate (NOC) for film production in the country. PTV Films will be a platform for young filmmakers to present their ideas and make films together.
The government will fund his projects and market his films to revive Pakistani cinema. The report said, Pakistan is one of the most beautiful places in the world and foreign filmmakers can easily shoot their films. The minister took a pledge to open more cinema houses and shared plans to promote the industry. The government will offer industrial and domestic rates for power consumption in cinema halls, he said. We have deducted many taxes from cinema halls. The Information Minister said that the government has requested NCOC to open cinema halls and thankfully they are running all over Pakistan.
