New Delhi: The central government has decided to sell wheat and wheat flour in the open market amid public dissatisfaction over the increase in the price of wheat and wheat flour. Accordingly, the central government recently announced that it will send 30 lakh tonnes of wheat from the stock of the central bank to the Food Corporation of India for sale in the foreign market.
In response to this, the price of wheat in the external market was Rs. 5 to Rs.6 will be reduced according to the traders. The Food Corporation of India has informed that it is going to send wheat from various places for sale in the external market for the next 2 months.
According to central government statistics, the price of one kg of wheat increased to Rs 33.43 from Rs 28.24 last year. Similarly, the price of wheat flour also increased from Rs.31.41 to Rs.37.95 per kg.
At present, it is reported that wheat will decrease up to Rs.6 in the wholesale and retail market. Jan. As on 01.01.171.70 lakh tonnes of wheat in stock in food corporation warehouses is estimated.
