New Delhi. Delhi’s Patiala House Court has recently issued summons against veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra and two others in the fraud case related to ‘Garam Dharam Dhaba’ franchise. The summons, issued by Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Yashdeep Chahal, is based on a complaint filed by Delhi-based businessman Sushil Kumar.
He has alleged that he was lured into investing in the franchise. The judge said in the summon order passed on December 5, “The evidence on record prima facie indicates that the accused persons in furtherance of their common intention misled the complainant and duly disclosed the ingredients of the offense of fraud Has gone.”
The documents present on record are related to Garam Dharam Dhaba and the logo of the said restaurant is also present on the letter of intent. The court said, it is clear that the transaction between the parties pertains to Garam Dharam Dhaba and is being carried forward by the co-accused on behalf of accused Dharam Singh Deol (Dharmendra).
The case of complainant Sushil Kumar is that in April 2018, the co-accused had contacted him on behalf of Dharam and proposed to open the franchise of Garam Dharam Dhaba on NH-24/NH-9 in Uttar Pradesh. The complainant was allegedly lured to invest in the franchise on the pretext that the branches of the said restaurant in Connaught Place, Delhi and Murthal, Haryana were doing a monthly turnover of around Rs 70 to 80 lakh.
