New Delhi: As the proceedings began today with question hour in the Lok Sabha of the Parliament, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till 12 noon after the opposition parties tried to raise the issue.
Earlier, there were reports that the opposition parties other than the Aam Aadmi Party have decided to participate in the debate of the budget session in the Parliament.
After three consecutive days of deadlock, the parliamentary session started today (Tuesday) at 11 am. Thus the Lok Sabha started with Question Time. At that time, the opposition parties tried to raise the Adani Group issue. Speaker Om Birla said to take question time for that. However, the Speaker adjourned the proceedings till 12 noon when the opposition parties continued to press their demands.
The first session of Parliament for this year began on 31st January in the Parliament. After the presentation of the Union Budget for the financial year 2023-24 on February 1, both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned consecutively for the last three working days due to protests by opposition parties regarding Adani Group issues.
In this situation, it is expected that the debate on the President’s speech and the budget speech will be held today (Tuesday). Reports said that the government had held talks with the opposition parties in this regard. There are reports that other opposition parties besides Aam Aadmi Party will participate in the parliamentary debate today.
In this regard, Congress Party’s media wing secretary Jairam Ramesh said on his Twitter page, “Most of the opposition parties have decided to participate in the parliamentary proceedings. They will also put forward their demand that a joint parliamentary committee should investigate the Adani Group Mega Scam related to the Prime Minister.”
In this case, the weekly meeting for the BJP parliamentarians was held in the parliament on Tuesday.
Earlier, a meeting of opposition MPs was held in Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjuna Kharge’s parliamentary office to strategize about the activities of opposition parties in today’s session of Parliament.
Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge said, “They are adjourning the House before we raise an issue. There is no reference to our notice but they are saying that the House is not being held properly. Did they try to conduct it properly? They are spreading lies that we are involved in Amali. BJP is good at lying. They are good at lying and misleading people,” he said.
