With the Hindenburg report, Adani’s assets have melted like gold. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi raised the Adani episode in Parliament. He questioned how Adani had accumulated such assets in such a short period of time. He said that everywhere in the country, Adani is being discussed. Rahul accused Adani Group of hijacking Mumbai Airport from GVK. GVK Group Vice Chairman GV Sanjay Reddy responded to the allegations of key Congress leaders. He denied Rahul Gandhi’s allegations. Sanjay Reddy clarified that neither the Adani Group nor anyone else pressured him to sell Mumbai Airport. In July 2021, Mumbai Airport was taken over by Adani Airport Holdings Limited from GVK. Sanjay said that they had tried to raise funds a year before the sale of the airport. Being an airport holding company, they incurred debts ten years ago. He said that the debt remained when Bangalore Airport was acquired. He said that he has tied up with three investors for money. The three investors have agreed to invest in the company together. With that money we thought we could pay off our debts. But they imposed conditions. At the same time we were affected by covid. For three months the business of the airport was stopped and there was no income. This has increased the pressure on us financially. We tried to complete transactions with them quickly. But that didn’t happen,” said Sanjay. “At the same time, Gautham Adani contacted us. When he showed interest in Mumbai Airport… we agreed to sell it. Adani said that the entire transaction will be completed within a month. That is important to us,” said Reddy. They said that they did not get any pressure from CBI and ED. We have entered into an agreement with Adani because it is necessary for our company to settle the debts. Sanjay says that he has known Adani for some time.. He directly conducted the transaction.. He did not bring anyone along with him. Adani said that he sat down and signed the agreement. He said that no problems have arisen in the contract with him.Rahul’s allegations.. In the Parliament, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Center has changed the rules so that even inexperienced people can enter the airport development business to benefit Adani. As a result, Adani got six airports. After that, Rahul accused Adani of building the most strategic and profitable airport in the country with the help of CBI and ED. Secunderabad-headquartered GVK Group set up the country’s first private power plant in 1996. The country’s first six-lane toll road project was undertaken in Rajasthan in 2004.
