New Delhi: Congress MP The opposition parties continued to raise slogans demanding the cancellation of Rajani Patil’s suspension and demanding the formation of a joint parliamentary committee to probe the Adani case and blocked the proceedings. In this case, Rajya Sabha was adjourned till March 13.
The Rajya Sabha convened at 11 am today (Monday), the last day of the first session of the budget session, and the regular business activities began. Following this, the opposition party members raised slogans to allow the Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjuna Kharge to speak in the House.
Did Rajya Sabha Speaker Jagdeep Dhankar allow Kharge to speak? The Speaker then deleted Kharge’s speech by saying, “Leader of the Opposition, you have stated many times that the Speaker is acting under pressure from others. They are being deleted.”
Subsequently, members of the opposition raised slogans. Many tried to go before them. Following this, the Speaker said that the House will be adjourned till the 13th of next month and will reconvene on March 13 after the vacation.
Earlier, once the proceedings had started, they were postponed for a while due to the agitation of the opposition parties. Meanwhile, Congress MP Rajani Patil has been suspended for the rest of the budget session for posting a video of the parliamentary proceedings outside the rules.
Similarly, opposition members Raghav Chadha, Imran Pratapkari, Shakti Singh Holi, Sandeep Pathak and Kumar Ketkar were cautioned by the Speaker for trying to run before the House.
