Preeti Bhardwaj, Member, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) held a meeting with the administrative officials at Sector 12 Mini Secretariat and discussed in detail with them the issues of safety and welfare of the children living in the juvenile home. Giving advice to the officers, he said that the Supreme Court is very serious about the safety and welfare of children.
The commission is working for the welfare of children across the country. In such a situation, if any responsible officer is negligent, the commission will take strict action against them. Before this, he made a surprise inspection of two child reform homes located at NIT and got to know about their problems from the children living there. Instructed the officers to work seriously on this.
Commission member Preeti Bhardwaj said that the responsible officers of the concerned departments should work for the safety and welfare of the children by adopting a humane approach. On the problem of many orphan children not getting Aadhaar card, family identity card or Ayushman card etc., he asked all the SDMs to solve this problem. He also said that the officers should go to the child reform home and talk to the children and discuss their problems. So that their standard of living can be improved. Arrangement should be made to get the props from the relatives of the children.
He told that it is often seen that many children are locked in small crimes. He could not even get bail for many years. The commission will take such matter seriously and provide protection to their rights. The meeting was attended by CWC chairman, SCPCR member Shyam Shukla and other officials.
