Srinagar. Two army soldiers were martyred during an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, while five others, including three soldiers and two civilians, were injured. The injured have been taken to the hospital. One of the two civilians injured in the encounter on Sunday died.
At present, firing from both sides has stopped and the army has intensified the search operation. Officials said that two army soldiers who were injured in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Ahlan Gondole area of Kokernag were martyred. An official said, “Five people including three soldiers and two civilians were injured in the encounter. The injured have been taken to the hospital.” Where a civilian Abdul Rashid died on Sunday.
Abdul Rashid was injured in terrorist firing on Saturday and died in hospital on Sunday morning. Police said, “A team of police and security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Ahlan based on a specific input. During this, the hiding terrorists opened fire on the security forces. The security forces also retaliated.” The Army’s Chinar Corps said in a post on X, “Two civilians have also been injured in the firing by terrorists in the ongoing operation, the encounter is ongoing.”
On the other hand, after Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir, an encounter broke out between the army and terrorists in Kishtwar on Sunday. Officials said that this morning there was information about the presence of terrorists in the forest of Kishtwar district. During the search operation, firing took place from both sides for some time. Army, paramilitary forces and police are conducting operations in Naunatta, Nageni Payas and surrounding areas. More security forces have been sent to the area. The search for terrorists is continuing.
