New Delhi. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and many other opposition MPs demonstrated in the Parliament complex on Tuesday against atrocities against Hindus and other minority communities in Bangladesh. He demanded justice for them from the government. He was also carrying a bag in his hand, on which ‘Stand with Hindus and Christians of Bangladesh’ was written.
Priyanka Gandhi and several other MPs gathered near the ‘Makar Gate’ in the Parliament House and raised slogans like ‘Central government should answer’ and ‘We want justice’. Earlier on Monday also, Congress had demonstrated in the Parliament premises on this issue. Priyanka Gandhi, Lok Sabha member from Wayanad, Kerala, had also raised this issue during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha. She reached Parliament on Monday carrying a handbag with Palestine written on it in support of the Palestinian people.
Then Union Minister of State Banwari Lal Verma said, “Priyanka Gandhi has brought the bag of Palestine, she should bring the bag of India. She is just creating drama by bringing up unrelated issues. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said, “Palestine” is written on Priyanka Gandhi’s bag. You can understand that he has no connection with India. Just a few days ago it had ‘Italy’ written on it and now it has ‘Palestine’ on it. Who knows when ‘India’ will be written on it?”
Congress MP Rajeev Shukla said, “Children are being killed in Palestine, hospitals are being bombed and she is opposing all this on the basis of humanity.” AIMIM’s national spokesperson Waris Pathan also reacted to Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s bag with ‘Palestine’ written on it. He had said, “Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mahatma Gandhi all supported Palestine. We have always supported Palestine.”
