Kasganj. Chandan’s mother hoisted the tricolor flag on the roof of the house after her son’s murderers were sentenced to life imprisonment. Chandan Gupta’s family became emotional as soon as they got information about the punishment. Chandan’s mother Sangeeta says that justice was given, but the punishment remained a little harsh. Those who shot the son should have been hanged. The father expressed satisfaction over the court’s decision.
On the other hand, police force has been deployed in the city since morning due to the court’s decision. A crowd has gathered at Chandan’s house. In fact, Chandan Gupta, a resident of Gali Shivalay, was shot dead by Muslim youth during the Tiranga Yatra in the district on 26 January 2018. There was vandalism and arson in the city for several days regarding this matter. On Thursday, the Lucknow court convicted 28, while two were acquitted due to lack of evidence. The court in Lucknow sentenced all the culprits to life imprisonment.
Sushil Gupta told that the son was a patriot. Every year on 15th August and 26th January he used to get a flag made on his face. He also used to take out rallies with friends by putting the tricolor on the bike. But these people did not go towards Muslim settlements. In the year 2018, a day before 26th January, Chandan (Chandan Gupta)’s friends decided that this time they will take out the yatra through the Muslim colony also. On January 25, Chandan brought a big tricolor flag and tied it on the motorcycle. He left home on his motorcycle at nine in the morning.
Information was received in the afternoon that Chandan (Chandan Gupta) has been shot in front of the Government Girls School located on Tehsil Road. After some time, information about his death was received. This news shocked him. When his wife came to know about it, she lost her senses. There was screaming in the house. Couldn’t understand what to do. Somehow it was managed by the time the matter had gone to court. Now we also had to advocate for justice.
