Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp explained on Friday that his team has regained some stability in the English Premier League during the recent matches, but it cannot guarantee a place in the golden square.
Liverpool strengthened its chances of finishing the season in the top four when it crushed rivals Manchester United 7-0 last week, to rise to fifth place, three points behind fourth Tottenham Hotspur.
Klopp’s side have a match left and will face bottom club Bournemouth on Saturday, whom they thrashed 9-0 at Anfield earlier this season.
The German coach told a press conference: There is nothing that improves the mood more than playing good matches, this can be seen in training, we have maintained stability in the league in the last five matches.
“But trust is like a fragile little rose and we must take care to preserve it.”
He added: There is a general feeling that we should chase and challenge everyone, but this is just a side story. The main goal now is to go to Bournemouth to collect points.
And he warned that Bournemouth could cause problems for his team because of the way he played, especially after he was close to beating leaders Arsenal before losing 3-2.
Liverpool can rise to fourth place on goal difference if they win, while the victory will revive Bournemouth’s hopes of avoiding relegation, as only six points separate the last nine teams in the table.
Klopp continued: We may be fighting for a seat in the Champions League, we will see how the results are in the coming weeks, but the struggle to stay in the league is exciting and Bournemouth will fight like crazy.
Klopp ruled out the participation of Luis Diaz, Thiago Alcantara and Joe Gomez due to recovering from injuries, while he expects them to return after the international break.
