Indian Diplomatic Office in UAE is finalizing preparations for Prime Minister’s official visit and two important events. Prime Minister Modi’s visit to UAE has not been officially announced yet. Indian Ambassador to UAE Sanjay Sudhir said tens of thousands of people are expected to attend Ahlan Modi’s reception.
According to a statement of Baps Swaminarayana Sanstha, Baps Hindu Mandir, the first Hindu stone temple built in the UAE, will be inaugurated on February 14 by Swami Maharaj and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On September 22, 2019 in Houston, Texas, ‘Howdy, Modi!’ Prime Minister Modi and the then US President Donald Trump addressed the community event organized under the name.
A registration portal has been set up for the public participating in the ‘Ahlan Modi’ programme. Transportation will be arranged for the participants from all emirates of UAE to reach the venue. The event is being organized in collaboration with 150 Indian community organizations in the UAE. A cultural feast with 400 local talent has also been arranged as part of the program.
Ambassador Sanjay Sudhir said that one of the most important recent developments in India-UAE relations is the construction of the Baps Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi. 2,000 artisans from Rajasthan and Gujarat spent three years carving 402 white marble pillars for the temple.
Last day, diplomats from 42 countries in UAE visited the temple. The guests arrived on the invitation of the Indian Ambassador. Diplomatic delegations arrived last Monday to see the architectural wonder spread across the 27-acre construction site.
