SRO (Pananthara Urulummal) has implemented the drinking water scheme by utilizing the funds of Block Panchayat and Panchayat National Ribbon Mission. This is the project of the panchayat for the financial year 2018-19. The four-year wait of the families of wards 13 and 14 is coming to fruition here.
The drinking water project started in 2018 was delayed due to various technical reasons. The tank required for drinking water was built on half a cent of land given by Dileef Ali, Kamal and Farooq of Kayanail family who are philanthropists of the panchayat. A tank with a water storage capacity of 25000 liters has been built in Ullumel area.
The beneficiaries of the SRO project had formed a committee for the drinking water project and had purchased a plot of land in the Mandalamkunn well area at a cost of 4 lakhs and handed it over to the panchayat for 2 cents. This is where the tube well and motor shed are installed. The operation was under the leadership of Ground Water Authority and Panchayat. The construction work of the project was done in three phases.
