In September 2022, the state-owned Air Algérie announced that it had launched an international solicitation for the purchase of 15 new passenger aircraft, four months after the Council of Ministers approved the expansion of its fleet to open new routes.
The APS news agency quoted the company as saying that the solicitation for bids includes aircraft of three sizes: “5 aircraft of the 200A category”, 3 aircraft of the “200B category”, “5 aircraft of the 300 category” and two aircraft of the 400 category.
She added that the companies that can participate in the solicitation are “exclusively manufacturers of aircraft operating in the field of commercial civil transport that have obtained certificates and approvals regulating the activity.”
