Lucknow. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav is seen playing the role of main opposition against the government of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav is continuously raising questions on the decisions and announcements of the state government directly and through social media. Even on Tuesday, Akhilesh raised questions on the new rules of Uttar Pradesh Police.
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, while expressing his views through X, said that he has heard that arrangements are being made to give a permanent post to a senior police officer (DGP) and extend his tenure by two years. The question is whether those making the system themselves will stay for two years or not. Is this an attempt to take the reins from Delhi’s hands? Delhi vs Lucknow two.
It is known that after the cabinet meeting in Uttar Pradesh, important rules regarding the post of Director General of Police (DGP) have been approved. Under the new rules, the state government will be able to appoint any promising and dynamic IPS officer as the Director General of Police on the selection of the committee formed by it. From now on, the state government will not have to depend on UPSC for this decision.
State’s acting Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar will retire in the month of May this year. With this important decision of the state government, a full-time Director General of Police will sit on the post of Director General of Police. This will happen after a period of three years. In the last three years, no full-time Director General of Police has been able to sit in Uttar Pradesh.
