The national team coach is betting on the high morale of the national team players following the positive results achieved in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, as well as the level of readiness of the players during their participation with their teams, whether in the local or Asian league.
Shabab Al-Ahly players: Hamad Al-Muqbali, Yahya Al-Ghassani, Hareb Abdullah, and Al-Wasl players Caio Canedo, Fabio De Lima, Tahnoon Al-Zaabi and Fares Khalil are scheduled to join the team’s training, following the summit match between Shabab Al-Ahly and Al-Wasl today in the tenth round of the league.
It is noted that the team’s roster for the Gulf Championship was devoid of Al-Wasl player Ali Saleh, although in the recent period he continued to be a starter in Al-Wasl’s squad, but he missed the team’s last two matches against Kyrgyzstan and Qatar, due to the injury he had suffered.
The team’s technical staff, led by Portuguese coach Paulo Bento, chose 26 players for the upcoming Gulf mission, and they are: goalkeeper Khaled Issa, Hamad Al-Muqbali and Ali Khasif.
