Al-Ahly of Egypt qualified for the final round of the African Champions League for the fifth time in a row, after defeating its guest, Mazembe of Congo, 3-0, in the match that brought them together in the second leg of the semi-final of the tournament.
Al-Ahly advanced with a clean goal scored by Mohamed Abdel Moneim in the 68th minute, Wissam Abu Ali added the second goal in the 83rd minute, and Akram Tawfiq concluded Al-Ahly’s goals in the 12th minute of stoppage time for the match.
The first-leg match, which was held in Congo, ended in a goalless draw, and Al-Ahly advanced to the final match for the 17th time in its history, winning the aggregate of the two-legged matches 3-0.
Al-Ahly qualified for this round after defeating Simba of Tanzania 3-0, in the aggregate of the two-legged matches of the round of 8.
Meanwhile, the Mazembe team overcame Angola’s Petro Atletico on aggregate in the round of 8, with a score of 2-1.
