Al Ain and Maliha completed the title of the teams qualifying for the semi-finals of the handball league following their victory, the day before yesterday, in the penultimate round of the preliminary round. Al Ain defeated its host Al Nasr by (36-34), and Maliha defeated Dibba Al Hisn by one goal, with a score of (23-22).
The round also witnessed Al-Sharjah and Shabab Al-Ahly confirming their early qualification, as first and second in the preliminary round, with Al-Malik’s victory over Al-Wasl (31-26), and Shabab Al-Ahly over Al-Jazira (26-25). At the end of the round, the Sharjah team strengthened its lead in the general standings by 37 points, four points ahead of Shabab Al Ahly, the runner-up, and Al Ain was third with 28 points, compared to 27 points for Maliha, fourth.
