Dibba Al Hisn imposed a positive draw, 1-1, on its host Al Ain, in the match that took place between them today, Friday, at the opening of the sixth stage of the ADNOC Professional Football League.
The leader started the confrontation with a squad mostly of substitutes, after his Argentine coach, Hernan Crespo, preferred to rest the important players before facing Al-Ahly of Egypt next Tuesday in the “Intercontinental” Confederations Cup competition.
Crespo tried to make amends for what he did in the first half, bringing in more than one player at the beginning of the second half to change the situation. He brought on Sufyan Rahimi, Yahya Nader and Kaku. Indeed, the performance improved and Al Ain came close to goalkeeper Suhail Abdullah, who made a wonderful save from Laba Kodjo’s header.
Al Ain goalkeeper Mohamed Busanda blocked the Dibba Al Hisn striker, Kasama, inside the box, and the match referee awarded it a penalty kick, which Osama Al Haddadi jumped in and executed successfully (71).
Four minutes before the end, Al Ain won a penalty kick, which Lapa Kodjo missed when he shot the ball over the crossbar.
Laba Kodjo corrected his situation and scored the equalizing goal from a follow-up to Salmoni’s cross, putting it into the goal due to an error by the goalkeeper “90 + 3”.
