Round 14 of the ADNOC Professional League witnessed great excitement with the start of the second leg, after the excitement and the strength of competition for the top positions rose, by shrinking the difference between leaders Shabab Al-Ahly and Ajman in seventh place to six points, while Al-Nasr widened the difference between it and Al-Dhafra and Dibba in the struggle to escape from relegation.

The stability of the lead was achieved after the tie was decided by the Sharjah Summit and its guest, Shabab Al-Ahly, without goals, so that each team added a point to its score, and Sharjah’s balance became 28 in second place, and Shabab Al-Ahly was in the lead with 29 points, but the Al Ain team and what it presented in the last rounds became the biggest threat to the two leading teams. In the last match, it achieved a big victory over its guest, Ajman, by five goals to one, to raise its score to 25 points in sixth place, and Ajman’s balance froze at 23 points in seventh place. With a difference of four points, and with the attacking power of Al Ain, in addition to being the defending champion, and having the ability to return strongly to the competition, he may pose a serious threat to the leaders and runners-up in the coming rounds.

For his part, Al-Wehda and its guest Al-Wasl tied (3-3), after an exciting match, bringing Al-Wehda to 27 points in third place, and Al-Wasl with 26 points fourth. Al-Jazira returned to the track of victories by defeating Dibba with a goal without a response, to raise its score to 26 points in fifth place, and Dibba remained with four points in 14th place.

For his part, Bani Yas restored its balance by defeating Khor Fakkan with two goals to one, to end the partnership with its rival, and raise its score to 18 points in ninth place, and the “Eagles” remain with 15 points in tenth place.

Al-Bataeh turned its delay against Kalba with two goals into a tie with two goals for each team, raising “Al-Raqi” to 14 points in the 11th place, compared to 21 points for the “Tigers” in the eighth place. Al-Nasr achieved its first victory after a long absence, and came at the expense of its guest Al Dhafra with a goal without a response, to reach 11 points in 12th place, compared to seven points for Al Dhafra penultimate.

The round witnessed exceptional numbers, as Al-Wahda and Al-Wasl tied 3-3, which is the second between them in the “professionals” with the same result, after the 2013 match at Zabeel Stadium, and Al-Bataeh gains a point at home after losing six previous confrontations. He stressed that Sharjah is a puzzle, and said: “Sharjah needs to adjust its situation, especially since Al-Ahly youth suffered from impressive absences, while (the King) lacked passion and enthusiasm as the season began.” He pointed out that the match between Al-Wahda and Al-Wasl was the “conclusion” of the round, explaining that each team got a point that enhanced its chances of continuing to compete.
