Salman Al-Dosari, the Saudi Minister of Information, stressed, on Wednesday, the importance of employing media work to promote a culture of dialogue, cooperation, tolerance, and respect for other values and cultures, and considering their diversity as a way to achieve prosperity for peoples, stressing the need to respect values, and the right of society to protect and preserve its own values and culture.
During the meeting of the Executive Bureau of Arab Ministers of Information in its 16th session in Kuwait, Al-Dosari pointed out the importance of adopting a unified Arab position to confront the content broadcast by some international media platforms that contradicts Islamic principles and does not respect the values and ethics of Arab societies, calling for the development of clear joint executive mechanisms. To crystallize a position rejecting that content, follow up on the extent to which these platforms adhere to publishing controls in our countries, and take unified measures in case they violate them, quoting Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper.
He explained that the meeting comes as an extension of the efforts aimed at developing joint Arab media work, and discusses the most prominent media challenges facing the Arab countries, in light of the unprecedented development witnessed by the media sector in various fields, pointing to the commitment of the Saudi Ministry of Information to support these efforts in order to achieve the hopes and aspirations of leaders and peoples. .
