The chances of the Al Dhafra, Al Arabi, Dibba and Fujairah teams in competing for promotion to the ADNOC Professional League next season have been enhanced, while the Emirates and Hitta teams have declined due to their modest results since the start of the current season of the First Division League.
Al Dhafra and Al Arabi top the standings with 16 points each, after playing six matches, followed by Dibba with 13 points and Al Fujairah with 10 points, but they played one less match, and United comes in fifth place with eight points, then Masfoot and Al Emirates (they played five matches) each with seven. points, then Al-Dhaid, Al-Jazira Al-Hamra and Al-Hamriya, with six points each, and “Majd” and Hatta (they played five matches) with five points each. Of them, “Gulf FC” has four points, and “Gulf United” has one point.
The results of the seventh round, whose matches were held last Sunday and Monday, resulted in Al Arabi winning over Hatta (4-3), and Al Dhafra over Al Hamriya (3-1), the same result that Dibba won over the Emirates team, and “Majd” over “ Gulf FC, while Al-Jazira Al-Hamra beat United (2-0), and Al-Dhaid tied with Masfout without goals.
The round witnessed the first victory for the “Majd” team, the second victory for Al-Jazira Al-Hamra, and an abundance of goals in the Hatta and Al-Arabi summit, which is the fourth match in a row that the Hatta team failed to win.
In turn, the former coach and international lecturer at the Football Association, Omar Al-Hammadi, revealed that most of the teams participating in the first division league did not present the same technical level in the current season as they appeared in previous seasons, and that there is a clear decline in the technical performance, with the exception of the leading teams. Al Dhafra, Al Arabi and Dibba, indicating that the competitions will be limited to these teams, in addition to Fujairah if they achieve better results.
Al Hammadi told Emirates Today: “The decline in the results of the two Emirates teams and even a surprise this season, and this has created a large discrepancy in the competition for promotion, as they occupy two late positions that do not suit their technical standing and their distinguished record of participation, and this is considered a surprise of the current season, and we can say that the features of The teams that will compete for promotion have become clear early, unless major changes occur in the upcoming winter transfer period.”
He added: “The good preparation and correct contracts of the Al Dhafra, Al Arabi and Dibba teams at the level of players and coaches have resulted in stable technical levels that qualify them to remain at the core of the competition and come close to qualifying for the professionals.”
Al-Hammadi was surprised by the decline in the results of more than one team, such as Al-Dhaid, United, and Gulf FC, as they appeared in a better technical manner in previous seasons.
He continued: “The upcoming winter transfers will be decisive in shaping the technical features of the First Division League, as clubs are expected to conclude contracts with players capable of modifying the results.”
