The National Professional Football League announced that the proceeds from the upcoming rounds will be allocated to the special fund account to manage the effects of the earthquake that struck the Kingdom.
The league said in a statement that, in coordination with the presidents of the first and second division clubs, it was agreed to transfer the revenues from four matches to the fund’s account.
The League confirmed that this decision is an embodiment of the values of synergy and solidarity, and in line with the High Royal Directives.
The National Institute of Geophysics had identified the epicenter of the earthquake in the “Ighil” rural community in Al Haouz Province, southwest of the city of Marrakesh, at a depth of 8 kilometers, with a magnitude of 7 on the Richter scale.
The number of deaths caused by the earthquake that struck many regions of Morocco last Friday night rose to 2,946 people, 2,944 of whom were buried, and the number of wounded reached 5,674 people, according to an updated toll from the Ministry of the Interior.
The Ministry of the Interior revealed that the number of deaths reached 1,684 in Al Haouz Province, and 980 in Taroudant Province, while no new deaths were recorded in the rest of the provinces and provinces concerned.
Public authorities are continuing their efforts to care for the injured, shelter those affected, deliver food and health aid to them, and secure traffic on roads damaged by the earthquake, while at the same time mobilizing all the necessary capabilities to address the effects of this painful tragedy.
