The Omani Al-Jawhara team won the title of the second edition of the “Arab Elite Cup” football championship for juniors under 15 years of age, which was organized by the Dubai Sports Council, within the framework of the policy of attracting, developing and discovering sports talents at all age levels, in cooperation with Delta Company, and its activities were hosted by Al-Nasr Club, 400 players participated, representing 16 teams from seven Arab countries.
The first place winners at the closing ceremony were crowned by: Director of the Sports Development Department at the Dubai Sports Council, Ahmed Al-Mahri, Director of Al-Nasr Academy, Ahmed Al-Dalil, and Executive Director of Delta, the tournament’s operating partner, Munir Al-Imam.
Al-Jawhara team won the championship cup, after defeating Al-Nasr team in the final match with a score of (2-0), while the Jordan Knights team, the holder of the title of the first edition of the tournament, came in third place, and in the Silver Cup competitions, the Froza Academy team from Abu Dhabi won first place. After defeating the Lebanese team Tripoli with a score of (3-1).
The player Al-Hassan Al-Qasimi from the Al-Jawhara team won the title of best player in the tournament, and the player Hussein Youssef Anwar Youssef from the Al-Wasl team won the title of top scorer in the tournament after scoring six goals, and the player Aladdin Al-Sariwi from the Al-Nasr team won the title of best goalkeeper in the tournament. Abdullah Al-Qahtani from the Jordan Knights team, with the title of Distinguished Manager.
The tournament witnessed strong competitions between the participating teams: Al-Nasr, Shabab Al-Ahly, Hatta, Al-Wasl, Knights of Spain, Manchester City, Barcelona, and Froza, from the Emirates, and from Jordan, the Jordanian Knights team and the Amman team participated, and the Dhahran team from Saudi Arabia also participated. From Lebanon, the Tripoli team, from Iraq, the Al-Attar team, and from the Sultanate of Oman, the Al-Seeb and Al-Jawhara teams participated.
The tournament was held in accordance with the rules and regulations of FIFA and the UAE Football Association.
This tournament comes within the framework of the strategic plan of the Dubai Sports Council in the aspect related to developing sports talent, and attracting the private sector as a primary partner in developing sports, by organizing international sports events that have an impact on youth development programs, and developing sports tourism in Dubai.
The tournament teams were also chosen carefully, as eight local teams were chosen to face eight Arab teams, to give the country’s club players the opportunity to face all the other teams, and interact with new skills, so that each local team plays with an Arab team from outside the country.
