Al Jazira Club announced that it had filed an official complaint to the Professional Clubs Association’s Referees Committee and the Football Association’s Referees Committee, in accordance with the applicable regulations in this regard. It objected to the decisions taken by the refereeing team that managed the first team’s match against Sharjah in the third round of the ADNOC Professional League, which directly affected the proceedings and caused the match to lose the elements of justice and equal opportunities between the two teams, according to the club’s statement.
The club said in a statement on its official website: “We officially request a copy of the audio recording and the report of the conversation between the video assistant referee and the field referee, to understand the reasons that prompted referee Adel Al Naqbi to show a direct red card to Al Jazira player Neeskens Kebano in minute (13), and to be satisfied with warning Sharjah player Marcus Meloni (17) despite the complete similarity between the two cases.”
Al Jazira Club expressed its regret for the failure of the Authority and the Referees Committee to pay attention to all the objections, protests and complaints previously submitted by the club regarding the influential refereeing errors that were repeated in most of the matches that the same referee managed for the Al Jazira team over the previous seasons, which had a direct impact on the team’s results in those matches and its chances of competing in previous tournaments.
