Al-Nasr team defeated Iraqi Dohuk with a score of 2-1 in the match that brought them together, yesterday, at Al-Maktoum Stadium at Al-Nasr Club, in the fourth round of the Gulf Clubs Champions League.
“Al-Ameed” maintained the lead in the first group, after raising its score to the tenth point, compared to five points for the Dohuk team.
Al-Nasr advanced with an early goal through the team captain, Adel Taarabt, in the 20th minute through an organized attack and a strong shot from the edge of the penalty area, but the Iraqi goalkeeper did not succeed in dealing with it, while Ali Mabkhout added the second goal in the 29th minute from complete isolation in the goal, taking advantage of Adel’s pass. Taarabt, the first half ended with Al-Nasr leading by two goals to none.
In the second half, the Brigadier General’s performance calmed down and Dohuk succeeded in scoring his only goal in the 57th minute, through Pashang Abdullah, who took advantage of the slackness of Al-Nasr’s defense line, so that the match ended with Al-Nasr winning 2-1.
