The manager of the Al-Nasr football team, Ali Abbas, expressed his extreme anger at the arbitration errors that the Al-Nasr team was subjected to in the current season and last season as well, the most recent of which (from his point of view) was the penalty kick awarded to the Shabab Al-Ahly team in the match between the two teams in the 11th round of the League. ADNOC Professionals, which ended with Shabab Al-Ahly winning by two goals to nothing, indicating that Al-Nasr had been subjected to fatal arbitration errors in the recent period, but he did not speak or issue any statements, and said that “Al-Nasr Club is peaceful, and complaining to anyone other than God is humiliating.”
Al-Nasr suffered its fourth defeat this season in the 11th round after losing to Shabab Al-Ahly with two unanswered goals, one of which was a penalty kick in the 76th minute. It met with great objection from Al-Nasr’s goalkeeper, players, and the technical and administrative staff, who demanded that referee Ahmed Salem return to the video technology to ensure the accuracy of the match. The decision was correct, but the referee insisted on his decision.
After the match, Al-Nasr team manager, Ali Abbas, came out for the first time this season to criticize the match referee and the arbitration errors. He told Emirates Al-Youm: “For two years, Al-Nasr was exposed to fatal arbitration errors, and Al-Nasr did not come out with a statement or criticize the arbitration, but the fatal errors exhausted us. Club Al-Nasr is a large entity, with a name and an audience. We asked the arena referee in the Shabab Al-Ahly match to go to the video technology just to confirm the decision, but he refused on the pretext that he was not summoned by the foreign video referee, and the situation is the same. It was repeated in the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup, with Shabab Al-Ahly getting a penalty kick, and the referee did not want to go to video technology.”
Ali Abbas added: “If the video referee is the one running the match, then why is there an arena referee on the field? We told the referee: You are the arena referee and responsible for the field. We just want to make sure. Our citizen referees perform wonderfully in foreign matches, but in local matches they need urgent intervention. Now the players are asking me to get the right to the team, what should I do? We lost in the President’s Cup final last season also due to a refereeing error and an incorrect expulsion, which was canceled after the match, and today we also lose new points. What should we do? Victory will not issue a statement, and I would now like to get out what is inside me, but complaining to anyone other than God is humiliating.”
He continued: “Every team has energy, and we, as players, coaches, and fans, are tired, and we will not look for an excuse for the loss. We only want the referees committee to appoint referees who are worthy of the important matches.” Ali Abbas asked: “Who runs the matches, the arena referee or the video referee?” Al-Nasr is a peaceful club, and if we issued a statement, what would be the result? Will the match be replayed or will the referee be suspended? Unfortunately, nothing will happen, and we will only say praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.”
Abdullah Al-Tamimi: Al-Nasr is looking for victory in every match
Al-Nasr goalkeeper, Abdullah Al-Tamimi, confirmed that his team is looking for victory in every match it plays to please Al-Nasr fans and the club, indicating that Al-Nasr did not deserve to lose to Shabab Al-Ahly, after they played a good match and Shabab Al-Ahly did not create any attacks.
Al-Nasr goalkeeper, Abdullah Al-Tamimi, caused the Shabab Al-Ahly team to get a penalty kick, which was enough for Shabab Al-Ahly to advance.
Abdullah Al-Tamimi told Emirates Al-Youm: “We played a big match against Shabab Al-Ahly and we were unsuccessful. We tried to correct the mistakes, and we always try to make the fans happy. We did not fall short and went into the match with a new plan, and, God willing, we will make up for it in the upcoming matches. Al-Nasr does not think about distant matches, it plays “Each match separately, we compete in more than one tournament, including the UAE-Qatari Super Cup, the Gulf Club Champions League, and the League.”
He added: “Compensation will be made in the next round against Kalba, in a match that will be held at Al Maktoum Stadium next Friday.”
