The famous Sheikh Omar Al-Qazzabri was a guest of the Mu’tazilite Egyptian artist Yasmine Khayyam, daughter of the late Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Masry, at her home in Cairo.
Social media activists circulated a video documenting the meeting between Al-Qazbari and Yasmine Khayyam, where they appeared exchanging conversations and gifts, in a move that impressed many pioneers.
In a related context, Khayyam, whose real name is Ifraj, memorized the entire Holy Qur’an and inherited the celibacy of the voice from her father. She also studied at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, “Philosophy Department”, so that after her graduation she worked in the General Secretariat of the People’s Assembly in the ceremony, and then she gained great popularity in the artistic scene after Umm Kulthum died, after which she decided to retire in 1990.
It is noteworthy that the Mu’tazilite artist Yasmine Khayyam is the daughter of the late Egyptian reciter Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hosary, one of the most famous Tajweed sheikhs in Egypt and the Arab world.
