Al-Sharjah qualified for the round of 16 in the AFC Champions League for Clubs “2” after its great victory over its host, Al-Wahdat, of Jordan, by three goals to one, during the confrontation that brought them together today, Tuesday, at the Amman International Stadium in the sixth and final round of the group stage.
Sharjah topped the third group with 13 points, while Al-Wehdat, which also secured qualification, remained in second place with 11 points.
Sharjah played a great match throughout the two halves and translated its advantage in the first half by scoring the lead goal through Kayo Lucas (31), but Al-Wahdat equalized the score through Daniel Afana (38) with a header shot, taking advantage of a fatal mistake by goalkeeper Adel Al-Hosani. Sharjah added two goals in the second half through Luan Pereira in the 47th and 67th minutes.
The match referee canceled a goal by Luan Pereira due to offside.
