Al-Wahda Football Company announced the dismissal of Norwegian coach Ronnie Deila from coaching Al-Annabi, according to an official statement issued by the club.
Al Wahda Club said through its official account on the social media platform “X” that: “Al Wahda Football Club Company announces the dismissal of Norwegian coach Ronnie Deila.”
She added: “Al Wahda Football Club Company will announce the new first team coach in the coming days.”
Al-Annabi had signed Ronny Deila last July to succeed Serbian Goran Tovedzic, who left after the end of his contract last season and moved to coach Ajman Club.
The dismissal of the Norwegian coach came after Al Wahda lost to Sharjah with two unanswered goals in the tenth round of the ADNOC Professional League, causing the team to fall to fifth place in the standings, while it had bid farewell to the President’s Cup by losing to Al Wasl in the round of 16.
Emirates Today learned that the former Baniyas coach, Slovenian Darko Milanic, is the most prominent candidate to succeed Deila, as Al Wahda Company is choosing between several names to appoint a coach to lead the team until the end of the season.
