Al-Wasl player Caio Canedo confirmed that “The Emperor” has not won anything so far this season, despite the good levels presented by the team, and its achievement of results that contributed to its topping the ADNOC Professional League standings with 52 points, nine points ahead of Shabab Al-Ahly, which is in second place.

Caio told Emirates Al-Youm: “Al-Wasl is entering the most important stage of the season,” explaining: “We must continue to fight and play with our full energy in the remaining matches, because the most important thing is to finish the season strong, as it is a period in which we reap what we have exerted and presented throughout the season.” .

Caio spoke about Al-Wasl’s draw at its home stadium in Zabeel with Al-Jazira with two goals for each team in the 21st round, and said: “We knew that we would play a difficult match against a strong team that includes a good group of players, and it was important for the team not to lose and keep its record undefeated in the league. It is always good to continue collecting points, so the point we obtained strengthened our position at the top of the league standings.”

He continued his speech: “When we played with Hatta and achieved victory, the match was not easy either. We always play on our home field to win, but as I mentioned, it is not easy to achieve victory in all matches.”

He added: “We know what our goal is, and we must play any upcoming match knowing that we have not won anything yet, so the players must put their feet on the ground and not think about winning the title, before we give everything we have in the remaining six rounds of the tournament.” Competition”.

He continued: “Any team that plays against us wants to achieve victory over us, and this is natural because of the results that Al-Wasl has achieved since the beginning of the season and not losing any match in the league, which increases the difficulty of any match we play, but we can overcome this challenge by respecting any team we play against.” We are fully focused in every match, without thinking about the next step before we finish the match we are playing.”

The national team player stressed that Al-Wasl must prepare well for its next match against Ittihad Kalba in the semi-finals of the President’s Cup, and said: “We will close the league file temporarily.
