Al Wasl Football Company announced the renewal of Geronimo Pobleti’s contract for an additional season, making the Argentine star the first foreign player on the “Emperor’s” list for next season. The company stated on its account on the social media platform “X” that Pobleti had signed a new contract with Al-Wasl Club that extends until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
Pobleti expressed his pride and happiness in continuing with Al-Wasl, appreciating in a press statement the great confidence of the club’s management and the public, and the support he receives with his colleagues, pointing out that he hopes to continue to perform well with the “Yellow” during the next stage.
It is noteworthy that Al-Wasl contracted with Pobleti in the 2022-2023 season, coming from the Argentine team Independiente in a free transfer, as he began his career with the Argentine youth team of Colon, and played with the first team for four years, before having a professional experience with the French team Metz in 2017 for a season. One, after which he returned to Argentina through San Lorenzo for two seasons, then played for Chile’s La Serena, Argentina’s Velez Sarsfeld, Ukrainian Metalist, and Independiente.
Al Wasl’s decision to retain Pobleti came after the player’s remarkable brilliance in the current season, as he contributed greatly to Al Wasl’s excellence in the ADNOC Professional League and the President’s Cup, as Al Wasl is on the verge of achieving the league title that has been absent from its coffers for a long time, as it leads with 52 points, It is nine points ahead of runner-up Shabab Al-Ahly. On the other hand, Al-Wasl reached the cup final, during which it will face Al-Nassr on the 17th of this month.
