Al-Zeyoudi: The Fujairah Championships contributed to a major shift in the game of Taekwondo

The President of the Taekwondo Federation, Dr. Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, said, “Fujairah’s hosting and organization of many international championships in Taekwondo contributed to a qualitative and major shift for the game, as it contributed greatly to spreading the culture of practicing this sport, so that it became one of the mass and distinctive sports, which a promising future awaits on the Olympic and international levels.

Al-Zeyoudi told “Emirates Today”: “The Fujairah Championships have created a great opportunity for the players of the UAE and the Arab countries to interact with the best players in the world, which contributed to the development of their technical levels, which helps the UAE, and in particular Fujairah, to become a global center for the sport of Taekwondo.” He stressed that this was reflected positively on the “Emirates Taekwondo”, as the game has become one of the most practiced individual sports by athletes in the country in the past 10 years, which paved the way for organizing distinguished tournaments and led to the establishment of its own federation. He said that “many players were discovered during these tournaments and became pillars of the national teams, and participated in Arab and international tournaments and achieved many achievements.”
