Peru is going through one of the worst environmental crises in its recent history, with more than 173 forest fires which have devastated 20 regions of the country, causing the loss of more than 3,300 hectares of natural areas and farmland. These fires have severely affected biodiversity, leaving a balance of 10 deadmore than 1,876 victimsputting thousands of people, animals and ecosystems at risk.
