Alfredo Benavides, known for his role as ‘Niño Alfredito’, revealed in a recent interview the reasons for the estrangement with his brother Jorge Benavides, who leads the successful program ‘JB en ATV’. The relationship between the brothers has been marked by professional successes and also by personal tensions. However, despite the disagreements, both have found a way to reconcile.
In a conversation with Giancarlo Granda For his podcast, Alfredo confessed that the fights and differences separated them for a considerable time. This distancing also had repercussions on his work career, leading Alfredo to work on other projects before collaborating with Jorge again.
Alfredo Benavides reveals the reason for his fight with Jorge Benavides
The bond between Jorge and Alfredo Benavides is not only limited to the family sphere, but also to a joint career that has given rise to iconic sketches and humorous programs such as ‘El Especial del Humor’, ‘La Paisana Jacinta’ and, more recently, ‘ JB on ATV’. However, the relationship between the two has not always been easy.
Alfredo revealed that a work decision was the trigger for the conflict. “He voted for me,” said the comic actor in the interview. This situation caused her not to speak to Jorge for two years. “It’s not that he was resentful, but he said: if he voted for me, how am I going to talk to him?” he explained. The fight marked a before and after in the relationship between the brothers.
During this period of distancing, Alfredo worked on other projects, such as ‘The blowout of the chola’. Alfredo also highlighted that, although they did not apologize directly, they both understood their particular ways of resolving conflicts.
How did Alfredo and Jorge Benavides solve their problems?
Despite their differences, the Benavides brothers managed to overcome their problems in an unconventional way. “After a while we were eating a lomo saltado,” Alfredo commented, evidencing how a simple family meal can serve to resolve conflicts.
Alfredo explained that there was no need for long discussions or formal apologies. His way of settling things was simple and direct, showing that, despite the tensions, the brotherly bond was always stronger. This reconciliation also marked the return of ‘Niño Alfredito’ to his brother’s program, announced in January 2023.
