Hamirpur: Union Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said that Rs 3,200 crore will be spent to improve sports infrastructure in the country in the next 5 years.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur yesterday inaugurated the newly constructed Badminton Arena and Judo Arena at the Sports Development Authority of India (SAI) campus in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh.
Then he said. The National Center of Performance (NCOE) for sportsmen and women will be expanded at the Sai Center in Hamirpur.
Similarly sports infrastructure facilities will be improved in all Sai Centers in the country. The central government will spend Rs.3,200 crore for this in the next 5 years. The central government will allocate this fund under the Gallo India programme.
Sportsmen and women should make good use of the sports facilities and modern equipments set up at the NCOE Centre. Young players should be trained well and prepared for international standards. Thus he spoke.
